Different sizes of content

In this 21-minute podcast, Dave Winer recapitulates his long history of blogging, inventing content syndication with RSS, how he dealt with content restrictions introduced by Google Reader and other content silos, such as Twitter and Facebook.

David has now freed himself of the restrictions imposed by Google Reader and Twitter, to reinvent the way he blogs. This involves combining different size bits of content — link-blogging, essays and commentary — into a single content flow.

I highly recommend reading his site Scripting News, and his new blogging tool 1999 is a venture worth following.
